Meditation informed by Focusing
An experiential workshop with Serge Prengel
Traditionally, meditation is an individual practice with the focus being on concentration and awareness, not on connection with others. This approach led by Serge blends moments of meditation and moments of sharing our experiences of meditating. It works both for experienced meditators and those with little to no experience meditating. It helps you learn more about the process and yourself.

After an introductory talk, we will meditate together in silence for 20 minutes. It is freestyle meditation. There will be some guidance to make everybody comfortable with this experience.
Following the meditation, there will be a demonstration of sharing about our experiences in a Focusing way, and then we will practice it in breakout rooms. We conclude with lessons learned.
All levels of experience (or inexperience) with meditation are welcome.
Serge Prengel is a Focusing-oriented therapist, coordinator, and a co-founder of the Integrative Focusing Therapy online training program. He explores creative approaches to mindfulness at www.ActivePause.com
Serge is offering this workshop in honor of Bruce Gibbs who passed last year. He was a friend and a long-time Focuser, whose passion was the intersection of Focusing and meditation.
