Embody Your Heart
Toning the Vagus Nerve through Mindful and Heartful Movement
Our embodied heart is a profound source of quieting the brain and nervous system as well as energizing our sense of safety and connectedness with others. In this webinar we enliven this inner resource through mindfully moving the heart towards openness and freedom.
As Dan Leven leads you in a series of mindful movements that focus on the heart and lungs (where our ventral vagus nerve communicates to and from), you will have the opportunity to cultivate a deeper sense of your heart’s presence within you. Additionally, specific qigong practices will engage your heart energy and strengthen your vagal tone.
This heartful & mindful movement practice is inspired by elements of Body-Mind Centering® and Qi Gong that inform part of Dan Leven’s work at the Leven Institute for Expressive Movement.
Experiential Flow:
• Somatic lovingkindness meditation to enhance interoception and vagal tone
• Mindful movements of the heart and lungs inspired by elements of Body-Mind Centering®
• Qigong exercises to awaken heart energy
• Healing and intuitive movements that organically emerge from your heart

USABP ON THE MOVE is an opportunity for our community to connect and experience restorative practices while getting exposure to many forms of somatic movement and mindful body-awareness programs.
The root of e-motion is “to move.” The same regions of the brain responsible for movement also carry out our cognitive processes. Our brain evolved from movement and still depends on it day to day. Join us to discover how conscious movement can bring nourishing restoration, playful community connection, and the understanding of how moving helps our thoughts, words, and actions.
Somatic tools may include, among others, breath, movement, self-directed touch, sound vibration, and conscious dialogue.
