Full Description:
The Winter Solstice marks the transition between seasons, inviting us to turn inward and make space for renewal in our lives.
In this end-of-the-year movement workshop, we sense and shift with the changing rhythms of the earth and invite our bodies to slow down. We honor the darkness and celebrate the returning light.
Using a multi-modality approach from the Life-Art Process, we weave movement, drawing, and writing to give voice to our journeys. We work with Anna Halprin’s Movement Ritual & Dance Explorations, a somatic dance practice to help release stress, heighten kinesthetic awareness, and spark creative expression.
We invite this question: If your body could speak, what will you let go, what will you take in?
Participants draw, write, and create altar offerings to honor the darkness and call forth the sunlight. We come together and share solstice reflections as the year ends and a new one begins.
Open to all! Please have a comfortable space to move and have drawing and writing materials on hand.
