Want to learn how to incorporate interoceptive awareness skills in your practice? MABT Level 1 training is an evidence-based and trauma-informed approach that teaches therapists and practitioners to facilitate and develop interoceptive awareness in their clients in order to enhance emotion and nervous system regulation, and self-care. The MABT approach includes education, interoceptive awareness training, and mindfulness. This course involves experiential learning of this approach and is for professionals and graduate students.
MABT teaches therapists how to facilitate their clients’ ability to learn and develop interoceptive awareness (awareness of internal body sensations) and related skills for self-care and emotion regulation. An evidenced-based approach, the focus is on learning to facilitate: a) increase body awareness, b) access interoceptive awareness through exercises using breath and intention, c) the capacity for sustained attention within specific areas of the body and learn an inquiry process that promotes somatic appraisal, self-awareness and insight, and e) interoceptive awareness practices that can be integrated into daily life to promote self-care and regulation. This approach is helpful to all, but particularly for those disconnected from their bodies due to stress pain, trauma, or chronic physical and mental health conditions.
This course is offered by the Center for Mindful Body Awareness. Classes are small to provide personalized instructional support throughout the week. This course is for any therapist/clinician who is interested in incorporating interoceptive awareness into their practice. The course will take place at the beautiful Whidbey Institute ~ accommodation and meals are included in the price; food is superb, and meals can be made to address any dietary considerations.
