In this workshop, we tune in to our kinesthetic sense and explore how we stand, move through space, and interact with the architectural elements in our personal space. We draw on Movement Ritual II, III, and IV for resources in our explorations. We pay attention to where we go and how we get there. We notice how we relate to our surroundings through our vision and notice the different feelings that come about. As we attend to our personal space, we also attend to our social space, the online platform that connects us and/ or challenges the way we connect with each other. We’ll explore our “edges” as we navigate this space and play with possibilities. As we invite attentiveness and curiosity in our dances, we also open to more aliveness in our daily lives.
Participants will explore structured movements devised by Anna Halprin that enhance range of movement and spark creative expression. Drawing and writing enrich our movement experiences. Please have a comfortable space to move. Open to all. No dance or art experience needed.
