  • 19 Mar 2021
  • Zoom

SHORT SUMMARY

Linda Ciotola, M.Ed., TEP, introduces us to what she calls “furry auxiliaries” as brilliant additions to interactive sessions with children, adults and all ages in between. In this online workshop with Karen Carnabucci, LCSW, TEP, we show and tell how to use stuffed animals, puppets and dolls as amazing projective tools that support and educate the people we work with for warm ups, go to the heart of the issues in the session or create beautiful closures as a session conclusion.

DAY OF EVENT: Mar 19, 2021

EVENT DESCRIPTION

Linda Ciotola, M.Ed., TEP, introduces us to what she calls “furry auxiliaries” as brilliant additions to your interactive sessions with children and adults and all ages in between.

In this online workshop with friend and colleague Karen Carnabucci, LCSW, TEP, we show and tell how to use stuffed animals, puppets and dolls as amazing projective tools that support and educate the people we work with for warm ups, go to the heart of the issues in the session or create beautiful closures as a session concludes.

The workshop is scheduled 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Eastern Time on Friday, March 19, using the online Zoom platform.

You will learn:

-How dolls, puppets and stuffed animals assist people in deepening people’s understanding their strengths, defenses and vulnerabilities.

-How concretization supports the spontaneity and creativity that is so valued in the psychosomatic method. How objects can demonstrate the containing role of the observing ego, as it is known in the Therapeutic Spiral Model of psychodrama and the teaching of neurobiology.

-How objects can assist in sparking play and fun as well as addressing trauma and pain in a deeply profound way.

-You will be able to take away your learnings for the next day or next week and use them immediately – and learn that what seems like child’s play is actually the touchstone of contemporary neurobiological-based psychotherapy and practice, bringing spontaneity and creativity into your sessions.
