Facilitator Bio:

Jennifer York is the Program Chair for the Southern California Institute for Bioenergetic Analysis (SCIBA) and the coordinator of the Somatic Relational Psychology Workshop Series. Ms York is a Licensed Marriage Family Therapist (LMFT) and Certified Bioenergetic Therapist (CBT) She is an advocate for mind-body healing and understands the important role of the body while addressing issues of relational and shock trauma. Jennifer has personal experience in trauma recovery and is passionate about helping others unlock their potentials through therapy. Ms York received her MA in Counseling Psychology from National University and BA in Art Therapy from the College of NJ. She has been licensed since 2004 and is Certified in both Bioenergetic Analysis and Art Therapy. Currently she is an Intermediate Student of the Somatic Experiencing Certification Program. Continuous learning and introspection are personal ambitions for Jennifer as well as inspiring hope and empowering self-growth for others.

The Relational, Somatic Psychology Workshop Series is a set of eight workshops that stimulate self-growth and teach about Modern Bioenergetic Analysis. It includes theoretical discussions, experiential exercises and group process.

This unique program is designed for individuals who are seeking a deeper understanding of their own development and mind-body experience.

Each training day includes ...

• 9 - 10 am - Bioenergetic Movement Exercises

• 10 - 12pm - Lecture & Theoretical Discussions

• 1:15 - 4pm - Experiential Learning & Group Process

Learning Objectives include:

• Identify and describe somatic adaptations.

• Differentiate each Character Structure.

• Identify the theoretical basis of Bioenergetic Analysis principles.

• Apply the concepts of personal safety, grounding and boundaries.

CEU Information:

The Southern California Institute for Bioenergetic Analysis (SCIBA) is approved by the California Association of Marriage and Family Therapists to sponsor continuing education for LMFT’s, LCSW’s, LPCC’s and / or LEP’s. SCIBA maintains responsibility for this program and its content; Approval #57012. Each workshop in this Relational Somatic Psychology Workshop Series meets the qualifica- tions of 4 hours of continuing education units for LMFT’s, LCSW’s, LPCC’s and / or LEP’s as required by the California Board of Behavioral Sciences. One CEU certificate will be provided after completion of the entire program and all fees and evaluations have been submitted. Four CEU’s will be awarded for attendance during the presentation and experiential portions of each workshop day. Total possible CEU’s for attending all 8 workshops is 32 (CEU credit is not awarded for breaks and lunch break.)
