seattle school of body-psychotherapy

The training at Seattle School of Body-Psychotherapy combines the somatic approach of Core Energetics with trauma theory, neurobiology, and work with the heart as well as the natural elements of the world.

Beyond healing and training healers, we have a strong social justice focus and create the possibility for decolonizing our conditioning and opening a new way of perceiving and moving through the world.

Seattle School of Body-Psychotherapy offers a three-year training program which can be taken for both personal transformation and professional development. With the understanding that pure life force emanates from the Core of every being and always remains intact, we study how to track the blocks that obscure it over time and through the life cycle. We learn clinical techniques to free the expansive life energy in order to use it on behalf of our life, our interpersonal experiences, and to reconnect with our joy. We also include work explorations in heart perception and the imaginal realm. These help us to develop relationship with the greater world around us, de-centering and adding perspective to our role as humans on the planet. The result is as spiritual as it is psychological, creating opening for ourselves those with whom we work. We seek to find our own unique offering and bring it into community.

SSBP welcomes all adult learners and appreciates that students bring a wealth of helpful experience to their body-psychotherapy studies. Students of SSBP include both licensed and student psychotherapists wanting to specialize and go deeper in their practice and in their personal presence as well as people from many other fields and life paths. A practitioner skills tract that teaches basic assessment, listening and intervention skills along with ethics and more, is available for those without a mental health background.
